I was terrified of my first chemo almost turned back, Having the canula in my hand was my first worry as i had several bad experiences in hospital when they couldnt find veins, plus i was concerned about every possible problem that could go wrong, in short i developed a severe case of wimpiness to the point i sat down in the chair ready for my treatment and straight away started blubbing, how shameful is that! Well the unit i attend is peopled by angels the nurse that put my canular in did everything she could to make it easier she was an expert and the result was no more than slight discomfort, i was six hours attached to a drip which i was able to unplug and go to the loo, they bought me cups of tea my daughter visited, my husband didnt need to stay all day i was completely relaxed and was able to chat to other patients.
This was so good for me i feel i have started my on a positive note, i got up this morning having had a better night than usual, not much in the way of side effects and feeling good much more positive about the future.
