My Dad met with his Doctor at the Beatson Hospital on Friday for an update on his chemo and to find out what happens next.
This would have been my Dad's 6th lot of chemo, the doctor asked my Dad how he was coping with the chemo and my Dad has told him he is fine with it, my Dad always just says he is fine instead of telling the whole truth. My Mum, Brother and myself were all sitting with my Dad when he said this, I spoke up and told the doctor I thought my Dad was losing alot of weight and he was also sleeping all the time and didn't have the energy to do anything, he has also been passing out a lot aswell.
The Doctor has decided that my Dad has had enough chemo and has decided to cancel his last lot, my Dad seemed a bit relieved with this as it is taking so much out of him, the doc also said that if five lots of chemo hasn't made a difference then another lot isn't going to make much difference. The scan my Dad had after 3 lots showed it had shrunk a bit so hopefully when he gets a scan in 3 weeks time it has shrunk some more. The Doctor also stated that if he gave him this dose of chemo and it made him really ill he couldn't repair it so it was better to miss it out and maybe give more treatment later on if needed.
I'm just so worried about my Dad I don't seem to think about anything else, he is just looking so frail and fragile but still has really good spirits.
