The district nurse paid us a visit yesterday to assess what Mo and I needed.Assessments!Assessments! getting sick to death of them...Now! I know they are a good thing but its always the same questions that are asked over and over, needs must I guess. The district nurse was very helpful telling us what was available, the symptom management clinic, regular house calls by the nursing staff, day therapy at the hospice,Care for Carers, referral (another word I'm beginning to dislike!)to Social services regarding another carer coming in to help Mo with her personnal hygiene plus various other services.I know its all good but I still have some reservations about getting Social Services involved ,you hear so many horror stories on the news.Hopefully I will also get a contact number or phone call from a Macmillan nurse, which I didnt know they had locally.
