Dad has another set back...

Less than one minute read time.

Today Mum got a call saying Dad needed a chest drain putting in as the infection was still their and he had now too much fluid on his lungs.

She was told he was having it done this morning, but when she arrived at 2.30 pm for visiting time - they had decided Dad was not well enough to have it done after all.

All the specialists have been to see him again and they are pumping him full of anti biotics and put him on fluids... he is on oxygen through a mask to help breathing.

They served him celery soup and jelly for lunch when Mum arrived it was still there cold soup and warming jelly... he is too weak to eat by himself and nobody had been there to help him eat it.

Luckily Mum fed him.... hard time for them both. They celebrated 50 years of marriage on 2 July 2010... a long time!!

Another shocking tale of the neglect that is going on withing the NHS. It is horrendous that your poor dad was left without someone noticing he hadn't eaten.

I hope your dad responds well to the antibiotics and is feeling a bit better soon.

    Best wishes, Christine xx

    Hi Jules,

I am very sorry that your dad is so unwell and I hope that the antibiotics take effect quickly. It is not good enough that he wasn't helped to eat and this seems to be commonplace in many hospitals. Thank goodness your dad has a family to visit him regularly and I really feel for the patients who don't have anyone.

Very best wishes to you all,

                   Love lizzie xx

PS  Your letter to your dad was beautiful and, as others have said, he really should see it.

    Hi Jules,

I hope your Dad gets better soon, It was a good job your Mum arrived to see him and was able to feed him.  I would report the staff for neglect of duty.

Take care and be safe Big Hugs Love Sarsfield.xx
