Well, how time flies. I haven't written for ages as life has been busy and we have been throwing ourselves into the planning for the wedding (8 weeks tomorrow) and today has been looming as some unreachable point in the future ..... but all too soon here we are again! It made sense 3 months ago when A had the last all clear to decide on a date for the wedding - after all, once you've had cancer you would sit and wait forever if you wanted to plan a "sure thing" timing .... I'm not sure you'd ever actually do anything .. sometimes you just have to decide to get on with living. However, at the back of my mind lays the possibility of "what if ..."
It is only 9 months since cancer came into our life and it has certainly changed quite a few things - but we are determined it will not change us for the worst. I am bracing myself for this afternoon, and we have one of those ungodly end of the afternoon appointments (results appointments should always be at 9 in the morning if you ask me!). I can only imagine how much worse it feels for A. Are we prepared for anything? Yes. But I know that thinking that and the actuality of sitting in the room waiting for those few words is a whole different ballgame.
Still, as Ivana so wisely said on Celebrity BB "It is vot it is darlink." ;-)
To all of you who are getting results this week - and there seem to be a lot of you - the best of luck. Let's hope we will all be having a big Macmillanites celebration by tomorrow! For us? Either way it'll be champagne and fish and chips for dinner tonight.
