Not what I thought

1 minute read time.

Since my courageous and very stupid decision to try work on Monday I have really been suffering. Well I couldnt ring the mac nurses and tell them of my stupidity could I so decided to suffer in silence (no probs going to hospital Thursday would mention pain then...)

Have not managed to get any sleep for two nights and last night even had to vacate my lovely bed because every time my other half so much as even flickered the pain was awful, so picked up trusty v pillow and headed downstairs to at least try and get some sleep, watched murder most horrid, the two ronnies but no sleep. Must have drifted off sometime after 4.30 and lovely other half woke me at 6 to tell me he was off to work. Great can jump back into bed, but still so much pain.

Finally swallowed my pride and prepared myself to be told off and rang the mac nurse, how long would it take me to get there. About 1 hr so rushed around getting ready and off I trotted with 16 yr old for support. As soon as the nurse Claire (lovely lovely girl) saw my arm she declared "fluid build-up" and she proceeded to extract over 1 litre of fluid from under my arm. Daughter wanted to visit x-ray to check her hand was not broken after foolishly offering it as support and the relief was immediate. I can now walk with my arm down by my side and no longer look like I have been body building in my spare time. She did warn me that it can come back and the body takes 4-6 weeks to realise there are no longer nodes to drain but she has booked me in for two sessions next week and hopefully it will not get as bad as it was today.

Now sitting feeling drained with lappy and coffee but in a  much better frame of mind. So big up to Claire (my heroine) and roll on tomorrow when I get those dreaded results.

take care love Terri xxx
