Mum had been on nebulisers all night and then the doctors said we want to do a ct scan as the regular treatment isnt working and they just wanted to make sure they hadnt missed anything.
Mum was taken for her CT and returned to the ward and us.This was about 2 in the afternoon. My Sister and I spent the afternoon having a little giggle trying to cheer mum up a little.
Later that afternoon the doctors came to my Mums bed, pulled the curtain round and proceeded to tell us Mum had tumours in her lung and liver and it was metastatic and incurable. My Mum looked at me and my Sister and was stunned as were we. We just hugged our Mum so tightly I didnt know if we'd ever let go again.Fighting back tears in our eyes we told our dear Mum we would look after her and we loved her so very much.
That night we left again at nearly midnight, we both wanted to stay with her all night but Mum ordered us to go home. We told our own families the news when we arrived. After no sleep at all we headed back up the hospital at 8.30 the next morning.
