ESA & medical

Less than one minute read time.

I've been claiming ESA (contributions based) since leaving work 1st January & get £41 odd a week.

Attended the medical assessment this afternoon which i was led to believe lasted approx 70 minutes.

The stress of worrying about travelling the 20 miles to the centre & wether i would be well enough has not helped these last few days.

It turned out the assessment was all over within approx 20 minutes & we were on our way home.

Hopefully i have scored the 15 points or more required & guess it will be a week or two before i hear results.

I have a Pathways to  work interview tomorrow afternoon (was originally booked for same day/time as my medical ) so will be happy once that is also out the way, but i'm not stressing about this so much.

Had my "Pathways to Work" interview this afternoon, that was a total waste of time with not knowing the results of the medical yesterday.

I will then probably (pending medical result) have to attend a series of 5 interviews at Ceetec next door.

The Pathways interview was telling me all that i could claim & what type of job might suit me & wether a part time job may suit.

    Watch this space!!

Had the letter today informing i failed the medical, only gaining 6 points with ref to the continence problem with my Crohn's when i shouldve got 15 points on that alone.

They took no notice of the Fatigue & how its affecting me daily.

It seems a GP's sicknote is ignored in favour of the ATOS assessor who doesnt listen to half of what you say.

I rang them today & was told i can appeal & it takes 6 months.
