Do I belong here now?

Less than one minute read time.
Hello my friends, I've been wondering, since I went into remission, whether it is appropriate for me to be in the chat rooms any more. The rooms are for patients and carers and although I have been both over the past few years, I am not any more. I suppose I should "get on with life now" which is exactly what my doctors have been telling me.

    Hi Trevor,

If you still need us, then why not stay? Of course it is a two-way street and I'm sure your experiences as both patient and carer will qualify you to help and advise others on the site too.

    Best wishes,

    KateG

Since my recovery I feel a total fraud too Reg and have often asked the question.  Like Kate says though, maybe we can be some help to others.  I know you have helped me out with info many times mate and I honestly believe you will be called upon in the future to do the same for others.

    Stick around !!!!!

    Cheers,  Mike

are the reasons why all you guys need to stick around.  Those recently diagnosed with prostate cancer or bladder cancer or whatever cancer feel as though they've just been handed a death sentance.  We need people like you to stick around, to show that it's possible to come out of the other side of this most awful journey.

And it would be our loss if you left us...

PS That goes for you, Gill D, if you're reading!

    Trevor,

Look at it this way, when newly diagnosed people wander into the chatroom its usually for support and we have a lot of questions.

Yes they should ask their doctors and medical team but really we want to hear from people who have experienced it first hand and not just dish the poison out.

We need people who have "journeyed" some, all or part of that way to help out.

I thought this site was for anyone "touched" by cancer...... we don't need to fit into neat little boxes and hey, if you enjoy a chat with the friends you have made and inbetween have a little fun, brighten someones day or your own.......WHY NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Love ya

    Debs xx
