    Hi Sunflower

Not sure what chemo you are on, but I would just do as you normally would.  I was on ECMF and made sure I had breakfast and I took something to drink - and a snack.  But some people took lunch sandwiches etc.  I always wanted something salty after, crisps, cheese or nuts.

I would take a drink, water or juice or ginger beer, maybe some biscuits and fruit, nibbles really.  I also found it handy to have something in the fridge ready for tea - just in case you don't feel like cooking.

    Hope it goes well.

Hi, I am on FEC and treatment number 5 of 6 is due on Wednesday.  I would do as Carol suggests, my treatments are normally about 2 - 2.30 and I have found that I have to eat before I go otherwise I'm starving when I come out. I dont normally eat when I'm there but I drink water and when I come home that the only thing I can really face is buttered toast or something fairly plain. I did try curry once (I love curry as any of my friends would tell you)  that didn't go down well as the smell made me feel sick so I couldn't actually face eating it!

Good luck with tomorrow, the anticipation of the unknown is always worse x

I go to Christies too and have for the past 19 months, firstly for chemo and now for maintainance! I ate as usual before chemo, but agree with Carol that its good to take along something to snack on and to drink in case you have a long wait, which can sometimes happen. And having ready meals on hand worked for me for several days after treatment, when I felt tired even if not poorly.

Hope all goes well with you; good luck.  They are great at Christies, so I'm sure you'll get the best treatment there is.

    love, marly

  • Best of luck for tomorrow.

Like the others I had breakfast as normal and took a picnic lunch.

Had tea, coffee and soft dinks provided FOC!!!!!!

Had biscuits and sweets too left to the unit from grateful patients.
