As we all know with this journey we experience a series of ups and downs. I remember in a lecture seeing a graph representation of the cancer journey that has really stuck with me. It was a series of straight plateau periods and sharp drops followed by more time on the plateau. Emotionally I have reached another plateau although not so sure that Mum is still not slipping down one of the slopes. What is positive though is that she is not ignoring it and is willing to see if anything can be done, i.e if it is time for a new stent, discuss pain relief optionsetc. She has been fighting this awful disease for over ten years and thank god is not ready to give up yet!!
A positive meeting yesterday with my tutor, during which she reminded me how well I have done so far, which has given me the confidence to carry on. We did decide that it was time to make it official with the university and submit for special considerations for my last assignment and for the few I have left to do. So we wait for news on what is happening next for Mum and hold on tight for the next drop.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
