Well Mum's shingles are running their course and are not as painful as they were but she continues to feel awful. She is hardly eating and swings between being constipated and loose. She told me yesterday that her stools were very dark, I was of course immediately concerned. I rang the on-call Mac nurse for a chat and she called mum this morning to see how things were. I phoned mum too and she was in floods of tears, fed up, in extreme discomfort and generally very low. So as she is not really eating I made the decision to go and get lots of veg and make some soup to take over, she had said she did not want to see anyone but I was never very good at doing as I was told. She was up and was trying to get a Cuppasoup down but did not manage much. She needed to go back to bed so we did not stay very long. I have spoken to the Mac nurse again as have eyeballed said problem and think we definately may be having some sort of bleed.
The team are hoping to get the consultant to go and see her tomorrow and I hope to be there but my youngest has an inset day. She needs some anti emetics and we need to know what is going on. Mum has been instructed by myself and the nurse to call if there is any change and I have everything crossed that things don't get any worse over night. We will see what tomorrow brings.
