Into the final week. This seemed so far away at the start I can't believe I'm here now.
Had the consultant meeting yesterday and although if lost a tiny bit more weight she said overall she was very pleased with how I've done on the food/weight front and that it's brilliant that I've got through it without a peg. I'm am being moved onto the more concentrated Ensures today though because I'm really loosing the enthusiasm to eat at the moment.
Consultant thinks I must have had an additional infection at the end of week two because I took such a sudden dive so quickly. At that point I was dreading the thought of it continuing to get worse at the same rate but really I think it just evened out moving forward.
The fatigue has definitely increased but I think I've kept on top of the pain by being well organised with my meds and taking them to a tight schedule.
The saliva has thickened up but the caphosol has helped keep that under control and it's not yet become unbearable. I'm told it will be a week to 10 days before things start to return to normal and it will be a slow process. The consultant said eating is the most important and she'd rather I kept up the pain relief to allow me to eat a more varied range. 4 to go......
