I'm ready- mentally and physically to go home now. Friday they said I was physically ready, but I just wasn't ready myself, but today I am, so hopefully I will be on my way tomorrow.
Today for breakfast I ate bread and jam, porridge tea and soup. With a tea spoon and a bit of occasional poking ( and the crusts cut off) it all went down. ( I know my hair will never curl!!)
MDT meeting Wednesday to decide if my margins mean I need radiotherapy or not, apparently one side is a bit close. Lymph glands are clear. They think it's low grade adenocarcinoma ? Haven't done much reading around that yet.
Appointment Friday. The team in my ward are the most amazing bunch of people. Summary of my stay: Lows- feeding tube / stomach ache / the first few night and dry mouths Highs - clear soup first real food after tube / washing my hair yesterday / people Also making a friend in the ward who is going through the same thing. I think comparing wounds and stories really helps the process.
