Hi does anyone have any advice on how I can help my mum to start to eat and drink, she had a stent fitted last week and this is so very hard trying to encourage her, any ideas would be gratefully received I was really frustrated yesterday. Also trying to find recipies for nutritional menues ect...

Tracy many many thanks for the advice, yes we got help from the hospital mum is eating small amounts now and is establishing a daily routine, jelly (fortified), and cream seems to be the favourite and we re read the patients info. we missed the fizzy drink, der umph.. anyway the last few days have been better, again thank you
Hi Jill thanks for the advice, mum has been prescribed Ensure Plus and is trying different flavours Peach seems top at the moment, we water them down a little and the DR says she needs to be drinking 3 a day phew....the last few days have been better its great to know that other people have had similar experiences and it does help....
PS New Zealand would be my favourite place to live you lucky Kiwi !!!
Hi Toni, many many thanks for you reply and the ideas, I think we will be a little more relaxed and let Mum choose what she would like to eat, I would say that the last few days have been better, she is getting into a routine so I am now encouraged that mum is making progress... its great that so many people have offered advice (including yourself), I feel we are not alone with this anymore..... my very best wishes to you and thank you again...
