Your chariot awaits, ma'am...

Never got round to writing this weekend and can't remember much now so, in no particular order - kids know what they're doing this week; went to the gig they'd promoted themselves on Saturday night (couldn't not go in the end :) I ended up 'doing the door' which i haven't done for a while. My faculties were tested by having to give out change and glo-sticks; stamping hands; drawing a star on the other hand if they were over 18 (for the bar); working out whether the ID shown meant they were over 18 (there were 3 who showed us driving licences for 17-year olds. Basic maths, kids!). I was shattered by the end of the night. Security guy was on hand to check ID and 'be big' - sharing his tales of cage fighting in Thailand and so on - turned out we had a mutual friend from karate who is a doorman in York. I think this is good news as my 2 are just starting to go out and about themselves! They were also really good with the kids - friendly but no nonsense which helps the atmosphere along! Anyway a full house, 4 bands and a great night. Thought I'd sleep since I didn't get to bed til about 2am but no - up at 7 tho managed to get back to bed til half 10. This pretty much wrote off Sunday morning tho. Kids were working last night so me and OH decided to go out for an Indian meal - lovely! Came back and remembered the funding application that needs to be there by the 11th. B**ger! The form doesn't really make sense (to me!) so I have to ring them in a minute! This morning I've packed my bags for the Holiday Inn, written this and am about to wake OH. I have to ring OU and then the hospital to make sure they've got my reservation sorted (single room, ensuite, no telly/internet or hostel, shared bathroom and telly/internet - tough choice). Butterflies are rising... Anyway, better get on with it - I hope anyone with aches, pains and little sleep has a better day not least to give a break to the ones who have to listen to them :D love kxx
