Went out last night!

1 minute read time.
well I didn't do any work but then I didn't watch iplayer either - so that's fair enough I think... I did decide that I was going to sons' gig last night and that was that. They were playing in York with a drummer they'd never played with (regular guy let them down at the last minute). After their sound check me and OH had a stroll around - the Races are on so there were loads of people all poshed up - suits, hats, best frocks, no coats - like a huge wedding party! You could tell that they'd started out looking fantastic but this was late in the day and things were starting to 'unravel' a bit. The guys had that loosened, off-centre tie thing along with the strands / tufts of hair that weren't behaving any more. A few looked like they'd taken some seriously heavy hits to the wallet. Ten hours in 6 inch heels, strapless dresses and biiig hats was beginning to take its toll on some of the lasses - but they still looked great! You have to remember I haven't been to 'Town' all year so I felt like I'd just been beamed down. The gig itself was fantastic - they were great (I know, I would say that anyway!) and the crowd agreed. A few friends who live near me but who I've hardly seen this year were there - so that was good. Me and OH left - so I "didn't tire myself out". I was dozing of in the car on the way home - so, yes, he was absolutely right. It was a great night but I'm so glad he's there to play nurse. There are times when I've come close to telling him where to shove his thermometer but he knows that i'll 'forget' I've got cancer and act normally and we do have to be a bit careful, don't we... I treated myself to 3 (I counted) halves of lager and it tasted normal and no adverse reactions (!). Slept really well last night - though I'm a bit sleepy now. It felt really good to be doing 'normal' again though I won't be clubbing for a while! hope everyone's trogging along nicely :) xx
