Not really much to catch up on but my Mum's just asked me what I've been doing for the last two days and I couldn't remember. So this is a test :)
I've had a cold for a week - nothing serious, no temperature, sore throat or aches just a runny nose and a bit of sneezing. Anyway started coughing a bit and occasionally coughing up phlegm - nothing major but I'd been told to ring in (hospital) if this happened. So, like a good girl, did what I was told and they rang my GP to arrange a 3-week course of antibiotics just in case. It's really good when things run this smoothly - a friend collected them from me as I was 'Home Alone' without a car.
Pete and 3 Foot Ninja (my sons' band) were at a Macmillan fundraiser that they'd been invited to play - a happy coincidence, we weren't involved in promoting it. About 400 attended so a tidy sum will have been raised - they've paid back the grant I got at the beginning of the year :) There's rightly a lot of support out there for Macmillan - sadly because so many are affected by it. My Mum, who had been sent for a mammogram last week after finding a lump, has just been given the all-clear. A huge relief. So it was good time for 'us' to give something back.
Watched The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button which I enjoyed without it leaving any great lasting impression. There's a nice sequence which describes the interconnectedness of people and how the consequences of our actions (regardless of intentions) can reach beyond what we immediately experience - like a ripple effect. I've always loved this idea.
Yesterday was spent idling on the Internet, listening to music (Etta James, Nick Cave and The White Stripes if anyone's as nosy about peoples' musical tastes as I am!). Also watched Jonathan Ross on iplayer - sorry but Them Crooked Vultures sounded awful - the whole definitely not better than the sum of its parts!
The carpet's dried out and the water was clear enough for me to have a bath today :D. New boiler should be fitted tomorrow - we'll have fire soon!!! Felt really Sundayish today - I used to hate sundays as a kid because all my mates would be off to visit grannies etc so it was reeeally booooring, haha. Really felt like felt like getting rip-roaringly drunk today (I haven't drunk for over a year!) but...did a load of invoices / statements instead which can now be posted tomorrow. Anyway enough for now.
Love kx
