gearing up

2 minute read time.
'Lo All, Fairly quiet day today. Wrapped a load of stuff back up to return and as kids had a rehearsal this afternoon, I took myself off to Teesside Park - my last solo drive for months :( I like driving - I like having a stereo to myself! It was chucking it down all day today which means that you need to keep an eye on the ford which runs across the bottom of our road - it rises and falls pretty fast. I didn't really fancy walking all the way back in the rain. Anyway, it was OK so went and ran my errands. Wasn't buying today but had a mooch round Borders and thought of going for a coffee and a cake. The last one for ages. One foot on the stairs and I heard the yowling - I love kids, I really do but I wasn't gonna spend the best part of a tenner to sit and listen to that...so I came home quite happily. Ford was up over the road but the rain has stopped now so it'll hopefully go down again overnight. So my last solo trip out wasn't nearly as exciting as I'd imagined it would be, haha. Too many people and pushchairs on a rainy day. Quite sleepy now so I think the concentration on driving will give me an earlyish night. OH is gearing up for Infectious Border Patrol again - the drummer came over today full of cold. None of us had thought to check that he was free from bugs ahead of next week's chemo - how quickly we forget when things are going well. Then the kids mentioned that loads of people had gone down with colds since Leeds Fest - they have to rehearse for the gig tomorrow so I'll just stay out of the way...which means missing the gig. The up side is I'll have the house to myself for most of the day and night which will be good. I'll get the classroom ready, listen to music, potter about and just get myself together ready for Monday. Then Sunday, they'll all sleep in so I'll have the afternoon with them before they go to work. Just me and OH on sunday night so a nice weekend ahead... see you karenx ps some happy news from people on the site this week which is always good to hear, isn't it?
