I had a tumour four centimetres from the anus and had chemo and radiotherapy followed by an anterior perenniel resection which removes the rectum, anus and perenium. My operation was in October and I am only now managing to sit for longer than 20 minutes without extreme pain. I still have an open wound from the skin graft which is dressed twice a week - I did have three hot spots and I have also got fluid leaking from a hole in my groin. The pain is reducing but very slowly and I am suffering discomfort where my back passage was and in my groin. I don't know if this helps.

Thanks for comment. You are braver than I am. I only had chemo and radiotherapy - no ops- but six months after treatment and still sore with bowel and hip problems.

    Take care.

I got radiation burns on my anus which made going to the toilet extremely painful. I was given INTRASITE gel which cleared it up almost immediately. I became incontinent right up to my operation. I now have a permanent stoma. My hips ache when I stay still in bed too long but we are prone to arthritis so it could be that.
