Side effects of Zalboraf

Less than one minute read time.

I have been taking this drug for 8 weeks and am suffering from thinning hair, excessive milia on face and scalp and thickened skin and burning sensation on soles and heels of feet.  Can anyone tell me if the hair loss continues all the time or does it gradually reduce and hair regrows?  Or has it got so bad that they have purchased a wig?  Also are there any treatments or creams that stop the pain and burning sensation in the fee?.  This is so bad that some days it is uncomfortable to walk too far and is interfering with my lifestyle which includes going to the gym and doing pilates.

Hi Jeanette,  From what you say assume you are taking Zelboraf for Melanoma ?

Hair thinning is a known side effect of this drug. You can find the information page Zelboraf here.

If you have been diagnosed with Melanoma you could join the Melanoma Group and repost your question there where you can get information about treatment from all the other members who are members. They can advise with information about any other side effects too.

Regarding the hair loss would have thought you should be eligible for a free wig. Maybe you should ask about this ?

Hope this helps, George & Jackie (breast group)
