Hi all
Its quite a time since I have been on site or blogged. Thought I'd come see how everyone was and whats the first think I see. Kezzer commenting on a Debs Daily....Yeah Debs back deliberating So I sit and catch up on the Debs delib's Hedgehogs......Turd Toads..... Kezzertrude, Debedee and MacMagic Roundabout.
Next is Andrew saying about making a prick of himself so to speak :-) Go through Andrews blogs look at the wedding piccys......it looked great.... loved the bouquet.
Kezzer at last has her portacath also has toads (maybe she can let Debs have one to replace Turd Toad) but she's lost her Immune system .....come on who's hiding it.. Kezzer lovely to see your still as mad as ever and have this thing going with Drew over Vests.... Now Drew thats a name that sets the mind reeling....Bingo Rage, peeing glass, vests and red underpants. My God I have missed you my friends. It was nice seeing that my other cyber mates (not going to name you as you know who you are and if I miss one out then they will be hurt) were keeping the comments flowing.
Let me update you on us....We have just passed the 2 year since diagnosis marker in April and will be 2 year since surgery on the 20th of this month. Laurence is feeling really good at the moment and he's looking exceedingly well. We go back to see "call me John" Oncologist in July.
We managed to get to Tenerife with only a loss of one days holiday due to the Volcano. It made us realise that if we had been out there when this happened we would have been in a sticky situation. Laurence can not eat or drink anything through his mouth and he has a special liquid diet that goes through his feeding tube in to his stomach that we take with us. I always take a couple of bags of spare feed with us just in case of flight delays but not a couple of weeks. So I decided that whenever we go abroad I will make sure I know exactly where I can get supplies of feed. When we go to Canada the feed company are sending 3 weeks supply of feed out for us and they will supply me with telephone numbers of companies over there where I can get extra supplies if we need them. Yes we are still putting in as many holidays as I can take off work and ticking things off the bucket list.
Now for the big news .....(trumpet fanfare) We took on our local NHS Trust for clinical negligence as they had misdiagnosed Laurence for 3 years and did not call him back after a MRI scan showed possible cancer and suggested it be referred to the next MDT meeting. He actually went back to ask for an earlier appointment than his 3 month one as he was in so much pain and thats when the radiology report was seen. They have admitted it and are settling out of court. It still doesn't make up for the fact that Laurence not only suffered so much pain for at least an extra 2 years but if they'd have spotted it sooner he wouldn't have lost his complete tongue so would have been able to eat slushy food and drink fluids. We are not going to do the "what ifs" but I'm sure I can feel a cruise coming on.
Anyway my lovely friends I realise how much I miss you all so will be back more regularly.

Shelley & Laurence
