Bang goes my Suprise

Less than one minute read time.

Because Jools and others had said they could get  insurance..... (Why do I now always want to say insurance with the voice of Aleksandr Orlov)....to America I had been hatching a cunning plan.  I would take Laurence to Canada perhaps do an Alaskan Cruise (Laurence as always wanted to do one and it is on bucket list) then go to visit my cousins on Vancouver Island.  We were supposed to do that last year but Laurence was in hospital so we had to cancel.  Rang MIAOnline to get our Insurance for Tenerife no problem, and then enquired what it would cost to do that next year if his consultant said it was OK .....Damn Damn and Double Damn..... They can't get an underwriter to cover us as Loggy's metzs are not stable.   Damn was it only Monday when we were so pleased that he only had a couple more little tumours and the big Liver one had only grown 1/2 inch.  That bloody 1/2 inch is going to stop us completeing bucket list.   Oh well just have to look for med cruise.

  • Oh Shelley... what a blankety....********* (lots of rude words beginning with the letter 'B') shame. I was talking to another member of this site yesterday who has similar health problems and could not get any insurance from MIAonline. She eventually got 'luggage' insurance and took the risk. Fortunately she was okay but obviously it was risky. I think you are fairly safe in Europe but North and South America they won't let you off the stretcher without seeing your insurance policy!

Have a great holiday wherever you go.

    Best wishes,

S'not fair. . . .  . but you never know, if he's stable next year it may still happen,

I spent Saturday night looking for quotes for a week in Malta next week, ended up with MIA online for £71 for us both, but one company quoted £1238 just for me, I nearly fell off the chair! Enjoy Tenerife

    love n gentle hugs

Sorry about American insurance.  we are in the boat, sorry about pun!  If you haven't cruised before, I would thoroughly reccommend the Med.  Sailing from the UK, we went from Southampton in July, is so much easier that all the hassle of airports.  Hope you are able to get something that appeals.

Hi Daffie we love cruising have done the carribean twice and the med.  We were supposed to have gone with friends this April to cruise the Panama but decided to put it on hold as Loggy still had a trachi in until Feb.  Mind you my tight arsed yorky husband had me email P & O to ask if he could have a reduced rate as he can't eat any food as he's totally PEG fed, they didn't respond though.
