Greetings my macland buddies.
I try to post good news news to give people a boost and show that there is hope out there in macland. The last blog just over a month ago was to celebrate my 12 months in remission.
Well my friends a lot can happen in a month. Last week I had an emergency resection of the small intestine following a couple of weeks of internal bleeding. The abdominal CT scan showed mets on the small intestine, which I expected to hear but the mets on the liver was a bit of a shock. As soon as I'm well enough I'm seeing my specialist for a full CT/PET and we can then see how far and how fast it is spreading and discuss what the options are.
I'm struggling to put a positive spin on this, best I can come up with at the moment is that at least I'll be off work for the BBQ summer they promised us! Oh - but even then I'll probably still be on a low fibre diet, eating soft "white" food. On the other hand, if the prognosis isn't good I might as well eat that charred steak anyway.
I'll keep you posted on the news
Love and gentle hugs, Sharry
