Its definite . . . .

Less than one minute read time.
Well its definite, its real, its cancer - there I've said it. Doctor confirmed on Thursday following CT Scan that I have soft tissue angiosarcoma in the blood vessels in the breast. The good news is that they've caught it early AND IT HASN'T SPREAD!!!!!!!!!! So through the powers of BUPA I have a mastectomy tomorrow and once that heals there will be radiotherapy. More good news is that I won't need chemo. So I'm pretty upbeat at the moment (now I know it's not spread) - they don't offer a prognosis (and I wouldn't want one) but he said I was to have a small party in 3 years and a big one in 5 years, which ties in nicely with my 60th birthday. Wish me luck tomorrow

Well Sharry at least you now know the nature of the beast that you're battling and things seem to be moving swiftly for you.  I wish you well for your surgery tomorrow and for a very speedy recovery afterwards.

Catch you in the chatroom soon.

    Biggest hugs...

    Hi Sharry

You sound really positive, absolutely the best way to deal with the 'beast'.  I'm so pleased that you've had some good news, you don't seem to get that much where cancer is concerned.  I hope everything goes well for the surgery..... don't forget to do the physio exercises.... 3 occasions now I've had to 'crawl' my fingers up the wall, shrug my shoulders, push my arm up my back etc. (You have to do the same exercises when you have reconstruction and I've had to do similar after my arm surgery)!!!

So, keep smiling and remember that we're all with you through this.

    Love and best wishes
