Radiotherapy

Less than one minute read time.

Seven years later, a second tumour has sprung up in my temporal lobe. Radiotherapy preparation begins next Tuesday... anyone been through or going through this, please get in touch. Doc is vague re prognosis with or without this treatment, but he is keen to get started.

    Hi Mand,

I went through 33 sessions of RT to my right frontal lobe. It was completely painless, lost a LOT of hair and the area that took the most radiation isn't growing back very well......gonna need one huge combover (aka the Baldy Man lol).

There are different types of masks - the clear plastic ones made from a caste of your face (needs to be done first) has mouth & eye holes cut in.  The plastic mesh kind (see my profile for pics inc me on the RT table) dont and you have your eyes and mouth shut for the duration of treatment - luckily its only a few mins.

    Good luck.
