First radiotherapy

Less than one minute read time.

I don't know how I'll be in 6 weeks time, but today will be my third zap and for anyone who is worried... it's not as noisy as an MRI scanner and it's much quicker. You can hear the swirling noise of the beam, but you feel no heat or pain during the treatment.

Best of luck 0: ) x

Yes the process is a piece of cake and very efficient but PLEASE don't forget to apply the soothing cream. Being a big macho roughy toughy ex-miner I didn't use the cream and finished up with radiation burns across my abdomen and up my bum. Having a poo was passing out time from pain. I had nearly finished treatment before it crept up on me!

    Keep smiling

Well done Mand, what kinda mask you got? Clear Plastic shell or mesh?  Still have mine upstairs in my wardrobe - dunno why they give them to us LOL

Like Drew said, apply that cream - but at night as the area has to be dry and non-greasy for the treatment.  Doesn't look good smudged in the hair and add to that only washing it once a week!  But you get through it.

Hope the rest of the treatment goes as well as the first few days.
