Chemo plan sorted

1 minute read time.

Thanks to eveyone for their help to date. Good to hear from Lea as this is the chemo I will probably have. Saw the oncologist last week who said I will probably have  3 x  Taxotere and then 3 x FEC. (Unless they think I have shouldn't have any more Epirubucin as I had this back in 2004, then I will have 6 x Taxotere. They will be calculating this. I have had an ECG to check my heart and will have a scan to check the pumping action of my heart too.)

Chemo starts Friday 3rd Dec with PICC line to go in the day before. Am trying not to freak out about the list of side effects.

At least it is a bit less than the 7 months chemo I had last time. Hopefully I will have good results like Lea and it will shrink away.
I find it very helpful to post a blog and get your comments. I think I might need to talk to someone too, as I have had some times when I have felt very down and might see about local support groups. There is one near me for those up to their 40's - so they might just let me in!

Take care everyone.

xx

Hi g g, good luck with your chemo, let's hope it blasts your gremlins away, mine worked great, I had 8 fec last time and 6 taxotere this time, and both times the tumours shrunk and the ones from the fec are still dormant after 2 years, so it's worth it

Oh sorry just to add I had a picc line in this time and it was sheer heaven!! Will definitely have it again if needed, it's a bit uncomfortable going in, but beats all those attempts at getting a vein, stress free bloods and chemo
