Hello Sandra ! Welcome to the site - I am sure you soon be making loads of friends on here.

I am amazed that you have left work - I would have thought you should have been offered ill-health retirement like I did - have you looked into all of your options properly? I am sure the Macmilan adviser will steer you through all the options so that is good news.

Well done for getting through your radiotherapy lets hope you can have some rest and relaxation and time to focus on more practical issues. Sending Love Jools xx

Hi Sandra, I am a primary "headcase" and found that after brain surgery and 33 sessions of RT to the head, I couldn't concentrate on filling forms out.

Luckily my hospital has an 'inhouse' Macmillan team who helped me with my DLA application.  I only worked 15 hours a week so didn't qualify for bugger all else!  My concentration is almost back to normal now - well normal for me ;)

My RT was last year and I only lost half a headful - I looked a bit like Andy from Little Britain.  Most of its a good 2-3 inches now, except for the patch above where my tumour was - thats what I call my 'sparse spot'.  But I can get away with wearing a wide fabric headband - not that they suit my chubby lil face but hey its more comfy than a wig or hat.

Jools is right, make sure you get some good advice re work & benefits, its all too easy for us to get forgotton and pushed aside.

    Love & Strength

    Debs xx
