I really feel for you Sarah, and I know how scared you are feeling right now.  It is so hard to  see past things when your head is so pickled with everything that is going on.

Eveyone's cancer is different and it would be wrong of anyone  that is not a professonal to advise you on what is going to happen to your mum, but what I would say is Never ever give up hope.

What I can tell you is my experience of my mum, she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000, and was told her cancer was very aggressive and her prognosis was 6 months she had 20 lynph nodes infected also.  She got her chemotherapy treatment and we all prepared for the worst as the chemo was very tough on her and we didn't expect her to survive very long.

It is 2009 and my mum is still with us and her cancer had not returned!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So take ech day as it comes with your mum and make it special, if you don't have hope you don't really have anything.

I wish you all the very best and your mum too with her treatment.

My hubby has had two types of cancer, totally unrelated to each other, one of which is back for the sixth time, hubby has had some really harsh treatments over the years and is now back on high dose chemo, he has had five ops over the years as well as a bone marrow transplant but he is still here and still fighting, oh and good news this chemo seems to be working. So I guess I am trying to say that none of us can give guarentees but hubby always says it is the way you think about it that gets you through. If you mum has a bad time with treatment do not be frightened of telling the docs they have lots of things to help overcome the side effects of treatments, which can help. Keep positive!
