chemo

Less than one minute read time.

HI got through my first chemo ok!  i was terrified! The hospitail nurses were great and i met a friend who i used to work with. He has the same problem but is doing well. if you are going for chemo for the first time try not to worry to much its not to bad its just a drip. if you want some good advice if you have an ipod take it with you and watch a couple of films as it takes abit of time but they do feed you! watch out for the soup though ha ha!

hi - glad to hear that things are going ok - you say you have just started your chemo  - which one are you taking? i have just had my second dose and have two more to take - i have mine every three weeks - how about you? - how are you dealing with side effects - do you have any - mine are that i am just so tired and i sleep loads and i also seem to be sweating such a lot - no temperature though - i keep checking that because i had my chemo stopped because i had a temp and had to go into hospital while they sorted me out - i was taking pemetrexed/cisplatin - they stopped the cisplatin because it was causing me to have ringing in my ears and they put me on carboplatin instead - i still have had a little bit of ringing in the ears so not sure what they will do when i go back - not sure how i feel about them changing the drug - but i suppose they know best - they said that there is a possibility of going deaf with that particular drug - but as i said i would rather be death than have cancer - any way i look forward to hearing from you - take care - karen - xoxo
