Hi everyone
Thanks for making me feel so welcome on the first blog, really appreciated!
Busy week, but loving being part of Macmillan - although can't seem to switch off from it, hence writing a blog at 8pm - although I'll confess Eastenders is on (not my choice) so this is a nice distraction.
Been doing a lot of spreading the word about various events and did a piece for The Sheffield Star on one of our Walks - The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge - as a team from Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre are joining loads of other walkers to walk Miles for Macmillan....25 of them to be factual.
Join me in wishing them all good luck, although it's not until 9 July so if you fancy a stroll I think there are still places left. :-)
I've also been to Wakefield and Warrington in the last week too, on various training days. The Volunteer Talk Training, was really useful as it's a great way of spreading the word about what Macmillan does, where people's money goes and how they can support us. At the training, I was made to present the talk I'd prepared last, just because I was staff, so no preferential treatment for me!
It went well and have my first talk on Tuesday night so wish me luck on that one!
Take care everyone.
Rob
