This is the first time I have ever written a blog, not sure what to write...does it need to be interesting? I guess if I only get three follows...all of whom are site admin then I've got my answer. :-)
I will get the introduction out of the way first.
I'm Rob and I'm the new fundraising manager for Macmillan - covering Sheffield and South Yorkshire. I'm new to the area, so you might see me quizzing some of you for some local knowledge!
Anyway, I'm just two weeks into the job and already I've worn the green curly haired wig for a press photo (didn't suit me) and I've met a few of our inspriatonal local fundraisers and volunteers who support us in so many different ways.
For example, 71 year old John Burkhill, who pushed a pram around Sheffield, walking a 1000 miles, raising over £10,000 for Macmillan. Just amazing and he inspires so many other people to fundraise too.
I'm off to meet the people at Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre tomorrow who have made Macmillan their charity of the Year so will have news on some of their planned events for Macmillan soon.
