well the other day i dropped in to see the young ladies in milton keynes Macmillan support office and offerd my help, they seemed rather keen and i must say i left feeling i would finaly be able to do somthing for someone, you know what i mean ?
Today i got my first call to arms, fund raising outside tescos ! a few hours at the coal face ..... cant wait. i put the phone down happy and glad i had been asked the only concern i had was would i have to wear a green sweatshirt or a sash ?
On the illnes front, i am on dasatinib since november 2008 and the results from this are outstanding over the original perscription of imatinib, sorry to say i cant be done with what the counts are ( i know i feel ok ) the dasatinib leaves me with no side effects save being a tad knackerd once in a while and as i work full time, have a fully functioning relationship and help out with charity work where i can. i can say hand on heart if i never told you i was ill you would never know. i maybe lucky but it may also be that the drug works for me and my state of mind prevents me from giving up, now if you meet me this will be very evident as you will see i was disabled prior to being diagnosed, i had a car crash in 2004 that left me full of steel plates and pins i was in a wheel chair for a while and still have to walk with a stick sometimes but i was determind to get out of that chair, and i am determined that having leukimiea wont slow me down (in a hurry)
