I thought I'd start a blog

1 minute read time.
Hi I thought that I'd start a blog as I'm sure that there are others out there who have had similar experiences as myself & who may be about to undergo the same or similar treatment as me & could maybe offer some words of advice or share their experiences etc. I was diagnosed with bladder cancer a few weeks ago & I had a tumour removed from my inside bladder on 26/05/08 & was told that there was another one on the outside wall of the bladder ........... I have now seen the oncologyst & also the urinary surgeon whose care I am under .......... The other tumour mentioned above is the same one I had partially removed which had started to go into the wall of my bladder. These guys explained all my options & what would happen next. I start a course of chemotherapy on the 30th June for 4-5 weeks & then will have to decide which of the options explained to me I want to go for. Although I have recovered well from the op mentioned above I have not returned to work & am waiting to see how I cope with the chemo & hopefully fingeres crossed I will be able to return to work some of the time over the next few weeks. I am a bit anxious about starting the chemo next week

He had two different chemos, one in tablet form and one via cannula.  He continued to work almost exactly the same hours as he had before, but just took things a little easier.  I think the only problem with this is that some other people start to moan that you have not done this or that yet, as they have forgotten about the cancer, and cannot also cannot imagine anyone who is really ill actually wanting to work.  For us of course it is a part of longed-for normality.  I want to wish you good luck with your treatment and full recovery.  xxx Penny

Yes, wobbles only to be expected until you settle into the routine, and your body manages to adjust to the assault of the chemo drugs.  You are doing really well if you are just wobbling, as I fell flat on my back with mine, and had to stay in bed for 6-7 weeks, dragging myself out every day in a taxi for radio!  Keep fighting!  Any questions or uncertainties you have, just shout, and we shall try to answer.  Keep posting, and keep smiling whenever you can because just remember that you are not alone and we are all supporting you. xxxx Penny
