i had it in 2004, by latteral (both) big surgery. my surgeon leads the field in it and i went down  at 7.30 am and came up from recovery at 7.30 pm... i was told surgery itself took 7 hours and my surgeon was fast  docs came over from england to watch her and she even done a documentry on it.

people tell you you get a flat tummy .... its not true.. because they use your tummy muscle to form your new breasts you cannot hold your tummy in.i got a new belly button, and my new breasts are a good shape, a lot of the area is numb, still.

i was in hospital 9 days and told to take 4 months off work .... i am self employed so i only took 6 weeks and although there was still discomfort i was able to work ok (i am a hairdresser).

iit is a big decision... but prevention is better than cure... if i had of known i was going to get breast cancer i would`ve done it before it happened. good luck .liz xxx

I'm so confused at the moment coz, i said no to implants and they said i dnt have enough tissue in the back so my choice was from the adbominal, however there is still 2 types and not sure 100% on the different between the 2..(free TRAM and free flap.. I go and see my surgeon back on the 10th sept and in the mean time waiting to here from the plastic surgeon to see her..I'm just scared on how i will cope recovery wise afterwards.  Wht do u mean by not hold ur tummy in?

do you know when you exercise ... to tone up your tummy you pull in your tummy?well you cant do that also you cant sit up from a lying down position, uness you roll to your side. i dont know about the free bit i just know mine is a tram flap. liz xx
