(17) An update ....

Less than one minute read time.

... on the medical front.

For those who have risked looking in for the first time, a brief summary of my treatment so far. Weekly Taxol chemo from July to November last year which did a wonderful job of shrinking the tumours. December to February this year I've been on Arimidex (hormone therapy). A CT scan at the end of February showed that the Arimidex had done nothing and the time spent on it has allowed the tumours to progress again.

So next week it's back on to weekly chemo for me but this time on Doxorubicin as fairy dust is out of stock!

On the plus side, the Doxorubicin is bright red (my favourite colour) .... ok clutching at straws on the plus side but every little helps!

    Hi Bad Fairy,

Sending you some cyber fairy dust...as you say 'every little helps'.

Red is good...natures 'warning' colour, hopefully the Doxorubicin will warn those tumours to back off again.

    Hugs.  M. xx

I was on this drug from august til december (along with 3 others). I've so far had a complete respnse to the treatment and I met another patient who said Dox was a good strong drug which really shrunk her tumour. Also, it can turn you pee a reddish colour, so there's something to talk about at the dinner table!

Your wee doesn't stay red for very long, I know! The cancer certainly doesn't like the colour red, Doxorubicin chomped away at mine. Good luck with your treatment. You take care...love Carol xx

Good Luck with your treatment. Ive have a few diferent chemos now and each time its a little bit scary wondering what it will be like but so far its all been ok. At least you know its doing something (hormone treatment didn't do anything for me either). How many cycles will you be having? Sending you best wishes Jools x
