Husbands having a very bad day, four weeks since his radiotherapy has a very sore throat.

Hi Kath, my partner has had chemotherapy & radiotherapy for lung cancer. The radiotherapy affected his oesophagus & he also suffered a very sore throat & was unable to eat solids. His Oncologist prescribed 'Antacid & Oxetacaine Oral Suspension' which really helped him. It is taken before meals to numb the oesophagus & relieve the pain. I think it is only available on prescription, just thought this might be of some help to your husband.
