My mum's 4 sisters have been diagnosed with either breast or ovarian cancer this year, her other sister died last year with the same. Should I get tested for braca?

  • Hello, I think your mum would need to be tested first in order to make you eligible to be tested. If your mum came back positive, then you and any siblings would be able to be tested. Each person has a 50/50 chance of inheriting it from their parent carrier, so it could be that your mum got lucky and did not inherit it and therefore you would not have a risk to inherit it from her. I hope that your other aunties who have been diagnosed this year are all doing ok x
