Fifth 12 week review

Less than one minute read time.

Telephone call from my CNS this morning, all blood test results good and my PSA remains undetectable.

The only chemo side effects still remaining are sore fingers which definitely look like being permanent now. Otherwise I continue to have the expected side effects from HT and darolutamide and they are getting worse as time goes on, but fortunately still nothing I can't deal with at the moment. I am however quite concerned about weak legs and brain fog so will need to see if these develop further - hopefully not, but I'm not very confident right now.

For some unknown reason I was very nervous before receiving results this time and very relieved to hear all's OK. Went out for a few beers this afternoon to celebrate and am feeling like a (very) large gin and tonic is on the way soon.

3 month prostap injection on Wednesday, collect next 12 week supply of darolutamide after Easter. We were planning a US trip but with Trump's adventure (aka disaster) in Iran that looks like being delayed for now. Maybe Lanzarote instead?

Anyway, happy days for now thank goodness. My thoughts as always remain with all who are less fortunate.

  • Great post and let's hope the brain fog and the weak legs remain at least stable.

I will raise a glass to you when I am out with my mates on Wednesday night. Cary on that PSA is amazing.

    Kind regards - Brian.

  • My husband has terminal prostate cancer and is on HT had chemotherapy last year, he has weak legs and brain fog which he denies (but he does) another blood test next week so Fingers crossed, good luck

  • Hello Penybryn,

Weak legs and brain fog are definitely a nuisance, I'm having particular diffculty remembering things like passwords and have installed a "to do reminder" app on my 'phone to remind me of things I need to do.

Best of luck with the blood test next week.
