anxious times

Less than one minute read time.
my partner had his ct scan today, had mri scan last week. within hours of coming home we receive phone call from stoma nurse asking us to attend colorectal ward on wednesday and to meet with colorectal surgeon. he had bowel cancer 5 years ago and had a colectomy with ileorectal anastomosis. i dont know whether to be optimistic that it was the stoma nurse that phoned and the fact that we have to go to the ward means they probably gonna book him in for surgery? i know im jumping the gun and should just be patient but this waiting is killing us!! im also thinking if he hasnt got a colon how come the stoma nurse is ringing or maybe she hasnt got anything to do with it??? god im confused any comments welcome thanks

  • The waiting for results is the worse thing I think during the whole of the treatment.

hi tony thanks for replying, no partner doesnt have stoma at the moment (think he would have been better if he had!) but i was thinking that the fact that the stoma rang us to go for results that maybe they gonna book him in for surgery that involves a stoma ie ileostomy? seems strange it was the stoma that rang us? anyway we will know tmw we have to go to dayroom on ward to meet with colorectal surgeon tomorrow at 2.30 but i have to tell you a really weird thing that happened this evening. i really didnt feel like going food shopping tonight but changed my mind at the last minute, got off bus, walked into tesco and walked straight into my partners consultant!! weird or what!! dont know if its a good omen or bad. any way fingers crossed for tomorrow will keep you posted. take care, julie.
