It's been a while........

1 minute read time.
since I last posted a blog. I have had my lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy (January 2nd) and am now waiting to have a 4 week course of radiotherapy. I recovered well from the op but managed to get flu during the recovery period, which wasn't very nice. However, I'm now back at work and feeling OK appart from some soreness and a bit of numbness under my arm where I had the sentinel node biopsy. Even so, I didn't have any mobility problems with my arm at all. All the results after my operation were good. The tumour was only 10 mm and was removed in it's entirity; the cancer hasn't spread to my lymph nodes and is 'a very well behaved' type of breast cancer (according to my surgeon) that is sensitive to oestragen. I will, therefore, be taking Tamoxifen for the next 5 years. Tamoxifen can have side effects, so I'm told, but so far I haven't experienced any. So, all in all, I feel that I am a VERY lucky lady - thank heavens for mamograms! I haven't posted since December, not long after I was diagnosed. It's only now that everything has been done that I realise why - it was because I was so afraid and coming onto the site and writing about it all just made it even worse. I appreciated everyone's good wishes etc, but this just isn't the way for me to cope. I wish you all well and hope my good outcome will cheer you up, but I doubt very much if I will post again any time soon. Thanks to all of you who responded to my previous postings. Love Pobs xxxx
