Hi, my son who is 30 next month has just been diagnosed with pmp. He went in hospital 3 wk ago to have a gallstone removing. As the op was taking place the surgeon noticed enlarged appendix and bleb like blisters on the lining of the stomach. He stopped the op at once and left the gallstone where it was. He had a CT scan then 2 days later we were told the bad news :( so now we are waiting for Christie at Manchester to get in touch. We have been told that my son will undergo a 10 hour op but we have no idea how long he will be waiting. Does anyone know please x

hi Shirley. I'm sorry but I don't know about the waiting times at the Christie, but just wanted to mention that they  have an online discussion forum which may help:

I hope this is useful, and feel free to message me directly too if you want to chat. My partner has recently been diagnosed with PMP and is having the HIPEC surgery in about six weeks' time at Basingstoke. I hope your son does not have too long to wait and that he feels well meantime.
