Hello!

1 minute read time.
Hi there fellow 'club' members! I thought I would pop in and see how everyone is doing and am sad to find some members no longer with us. They and their loved ones are in my thoughts. I had my third 3 monthly check up yesterday (since my op) and it was with the Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist who is lovely. Everything was fine when she checked me over but she was concerned about a pink patch of skin on my lymphoedema leg and asked a Consultant to look at it. Apparently it is a 'porrokeritosis' !!!. The Nurse had never heard of it lol so we both learnt something new. Apparently it is sun damage to the skin but not as serious as Melanoma thank goodness. I can't understand why my skin is like this though as I have never been abroad on holiday, never sun bathed and NEVER used a tanning bed!!! My family are beginning to think I am half alien lol as even the melanoma was not a "normal" one or where it appeared! I asked her why did my skin graft look so 'knobbly' and she said it was because it was near a moving joint but recommended some silicone gel that is supposed to be very good for scarring. She gave me some little sample tubes but said it cost nearly £30 to buy a 15g tube!! Apparently though you can get it on prescription and as we fellow club members get free prescriptions for the next 5ys I was down my surgery requesting it lol. Let's hope for some good weather over the Bank Holiday so we can re-charge our bodies with good vibes. Take care pheonix x
