this night mare called cancer

hi everyone mum is doing quite well at the moment ,.still not eating much but shes getting out in her wheelchair .on the other hand we now think my dad may have bowel cancer.mum and dad divorced 31years ago and dad has always been happy go lucky spending most of the summer at his caravan and going out with friends .but he has been suffering a lot of stomach troubles back ache and weight loss this last year.his doctor has now picked up on it and he has got to go for scans and camera on nov22nd .does anyone know anything about bowel cancer and is it a good sign that hes got to wait so long for a scan????

    Hi Flower,

    What I can tell you is limited, Its can be a very aggressive Cancer. Hes is going to have to put up with having a Colonscopy which is a camera up the

    back passage,its uncomtortable but not painful. But it will show any signs of Cancer and they can take biopsies. Other than that Im sorry thats all I know.

    you have different types of bowel cancer it depends where his type is found and what type of trearment he gets my mother has colon cancer and has had 4 cycles of chemo and amazingly  she has just had tiredness to deal with although the chemo can affect the veins in your hands making them collapse but again that depends on the type of chemo.  i hope everything goes well with your dad and i hope to talk to you again to see how he is doing
