mum not getting any help

Less than one minute read time.

well mum has been really ill this week not eating and at one point couldnrt even stand up .weare down to shuffling now as she cant walk properly.and it takes two of us to get her on and off commode .the response from the stand in doctor when we phoned on monday was :your not ill ,im sending the district nurse to assess you :(apparently being terminally ill with o.s.cancer doesnt count)the nurse was then overheard saying that the doctor had been called as we the family"werent copin"i will not repeat on here my reply to that ,however the good thing that came out of this is that we had a macmillan nurse come out again to assess her .dont know wat will happen now .we can just see her getting worse in front of our eyes whilst the medical proffession do sod all .sorry for the rant but bmy darling mum is slowly losing her memory ,terrible headaches 24/7 on top of all her other symptoms and no one seems to want to help.......

    Hi Passion,

If your Mum is not getting the care that she needs. Go on the offensive, write to your Dr, your Mums Consultant. The

Hospital, your M.P. and if all that fails write to your Local News Paper. If that dosent get them off their fat arses and get your Mum some help. I would get a few friends and picket the Hospital or who ever is responsible for this

Negligence.  All the best and good luck.

Take care and be safe Big Hugs Love Sarsfield.xx

    Hello Passion

I really do sympathise with you as I had a battle getting support for John recently.  We're getting it now but I had to stamp my feet and pressurise the doctor into referring him to MacMillan.

I also have a 'hotline' to out of hours help which is such a comfort.

I hope you are sorted out soon with some professional help and support and my heart goes out to you and your dear mum.

    Love and *hugs*, Madge x x x x x x

    HI Val  ((hugs))

Sorry to hear that you are having such a battle, it is so wrong that we have to fight so hard to get the care that our loved oones need and deserve,  and sadly this is often the case. Dont lose heart, keep on fighting as its the only way  - those who shout loudest etc..

My thoughts are with you and your mum, sending a hug your way, with love Sharonxx

I can sympathise with you as I have had exactly the same problem with my mum's surgery.  District nurses attitudes have been disgraceful, doctors diagnosing over the phone!  It's got to the point where the practice manager won't speak to me on the phone in the past.  We should not have to stamp feet, kick up a fuss to get our loved ones the attention and service they deserve.  Our energies are best used in supporting them.  Keep strong and don't let them grind you down, fight for what is right (not that you should have to) x
