After seeing the oncologist four weeks ago he put me on a high dose of thyroxin for six weeks to get my TSH levels reduced.
I was a bit nervous about taking the dose as he had warned me about heart palpitations and other side effects but I have been ok until now. Over the last week I have got gradually worse - my heart is racing and I have had a few palpitations which literally take your breath away.
I am also totally restless and Im finding it so hard to sleep even though I feel shattered!. Everything is going through my body quickly, so regular trips to the toilet and Im hungry all the time.
The blood test is next monday and Im just not sure whether to try and stick it out or consult the oncologist about reducing the level. Getting the TSH level low is my one shot at avoiding internal radiotherapy but just concerned my hearts being overworked!
I did think as well that if i was going to get these side effects i would of had them straight away but this has gradually got worse.
oh well, lets see if I can sleep tonight and if my hubby makes one more wise crack about it being him thats making my heart race.......Grrrrrrr!!
