Less than one minute read time.

hello, not been on here for a while, i was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, i had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal, then 6 lots of fec chemo and radiotherapy and have been on tamoxifen ever since. have had severe neck pain for the last 6 months, kept gettin dismissed by the doctors saying it would go away, now after an mri scan which i had to push for, they think that i have secondary bone mets in my spine!! waiting to see my oncologist for a definite diagnosis but i just wanted to ask you guys on here for anything you can tell me about bone mets? treaments, prognosis etc. i am gonna fight it again but at the minute im in that terrified stage incase its spread elsewhere. this site helped me so much last time, such lovely people.

    hi sam

my dad had kidney cancer with secondaries to the lung and bones (spine) he was given bone infusions to help plug any gaps etc in the bones.this was a fairly quick treatment and not painful so may be worth asking about this. he was also on sutent and everolimos but i believe this was treatment used in kidney cancer with mets to spine and lungs so may not be used for breast cancer. sorry if im a bit vague but just going on what i know

thinking of u and sending hugs

    Hi there,

My dad had bone mets as secondaries to his lung cancer. He had radiotherapy to the hip bone and a rib plus some sort of bone strengthening infusion of something when he had his chemo. He was also on a bone strengthening tablet. He had some pain in the hip after the radiotherapy but this wore off after a few weeks and his mobility was much much better. Sorry I can't remember the exact names of the drugs! I do know they improved things a lot. All the best, Vikki
