2nd Treatment - 13th Decenber

Less than one minute read time.

With the Oxyplatin being reduced from 230 to 170 because of the concern over the possibility of vertigo causing central nervous system damage, I must admit it has left me feeling a lot less tired and slightly more energetic that the first. I stopped taking the cyclizine last Friday, to be able to assess, if possible whether it IS directly related to the chemo, or just a coincidental additional problem. I still cannot sleep horizontally, so spend all night propped up with a large amount of pillows, which seems to work quite well. I've seen my GP today, and he has given me a sheet - Brandt-Daroff exercise, which may help to minimise or even make the symptoms go away. All being well tomorrow, I will be going to a Christmas Lunch at the Golf Club, something I thought unachievable this time last week. Will start the exercises at the weekend, and let you all know how it goes.

Thank you for your message janique - I really enjoyed the lunch yesterday. The only problem I had was coming home with a full stomach anything other than a quarter turn on the roundabouts (we had about an hour's journey) made me groan!  I had to brace my feet in the footwell and curl my arms around my middle to hold everything together!!   :0))

Somewhat an aside to what would normally be posted on here - but just a warning to anyone who has had a Whipple procedure prior to treatment - never, never, EVER get even slightly constipated - do something about it early - it is not worth the incredible discomfort which can last for days after the situation is resolved - if you just think it will go away  "normally" !!!
