Perturbed

2 minute read time.

Wow 5 months without an update! J is now 15 months into remission and is approaching his first 4 monthly check up. He has been doing really well. We've been a lot more settled and normal as a family..Me and him are really close and much more tender and appreciative of each other now. That's been a nice side effect of all this. We are also still in holiday mode. The sofa has holes in it as do the gutters but we don't care we just want to be off and having fun with the kids. I love it! J feels like his old self now, but his old self with much more oomph, I would say! He is back into cycling and loves going out with his friends and training for sportifs.

He is losing weight which I absolutely hate. But he is trying to lose weight by eating right and all the cycling so I guess it is kind of normal and not to be stressed about.

That's not the bit I'm writing about anyway.  i always write when I'm worried and I know it's not a good trait and I shouldn't, but the worries need somewhere to come out and this, where no-one knows us, is pretty mcuh all I've got,

So the thing this time is a rash. When j was first diagnosed his symptoms were - great big lump on neck/collar bone, fatigue, weight loss, bad back, and weird rash on both forearms. The rash, which arrived before the lump, but after the fatigue and back pain, was initially diagnosed as ringworm by his doctor. Both arms had round, itchy, angry, scaly patches on them. It was weird and I still don't really get it. I know people with lymphoma itch a lot but this wasn't itching without reason, it was a physical thing, and it must have been related to the cancer because it disappeared after a round of chemo.

Anyway he has in the last week developed a similar round scaly itchy patch on his shin. We are both perturbed. I like to reassure him/us with explanations of what it could be when stuff like this happens. But I can't think of any. It's just weird. I think it can't be the same because he feels so fit and healthy and his colour is so good, but still it is worrisome. He's not going to go to the doctors but wait until he sees the consultant in a fortnight, so it's back to watching this space...
